If you’re tired of your vocals sounding dull and uninspiring and are yearning for that professional studio-quality sound, using a vocal preset can be your solution. However, you may get lost while using Studio One due to the countless buttons, sliders, and menus at your fingertips.
So in this step-by-step guide, we’ll take you through installing vocal presets on Studio One.
Step 1: Locate the Vocal Preset File
Locate the vocal preset you downloaded from our Studio One Vocal Presets. These are the perfect vocal presets made by fellow musicians.
Unzip the file and move the preset file or folder to:
MacOS:
Macintosh HD\Documents\Studio One\Presets\PreSonus/FX Chains.
Windows:
C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 5\Presets\PreSonus\FX Chains.
Step 2: Launch the Latest Version of Studio One
Now’s the time to launch Studio One on your computer. Ensure that you have the latest version of Studio One installed. For the sake of this tutorial, we’re using Studio One 6. After launching the software, open a new song file.
A song file is the building block of your musical creation encompassing audio recordings, MIDI instrument programming, and everything remotely related to editing and mixing.
Step 3: Add Tracks to The Song
Navigate to the top menu and click on "Track". Select "Add Tracks" from there to open a new dialogue box. Or, press “T” on your keyboard to directly open the Add Tracks menu that will pop up as shown below:
Step 4: Click on Load Track Preset
With a glance, you can find “Load Track Preset…” at the bottom left corner of the Add Track menu. Click on it to see all your vocal and track presets on your Mac/PC.
From there, Navigate to the folder where your preset is saved. Click once on the preset to view its information and hit ok if you’re satisfied with the vocal preset and want to apply it. With just a few steps, your track will sound professional and have a touch of character.
Sonic One already has some pre-installed presets. Nevertheless, we recommend finding and downloading a professional vocal preset instead of using them.

Step 5: Adjust the Settings (Optional)
You can further modify and fine-tune the settings after loading a vocal preset. Studio One provides many parameters to improve your vocals, such as EQ adjustments for a brighter tone and reverb additions for a sense of space.
Practice moderation because the goal is to enhance and elevate your vocals, not drown them in a sea of effects. So, be mindful of the balance between the originality of your voice and the intensity of the preset you apply.
