Guide to Installing Vocal Presets On Logic Pro X

Whether you're a singer, songwriter, or producer, vocal presets are a fantastic way to achieve a professional sound without spending hours tweaking settings. In this guide, we'll take you through the steps to install vocal presets in Logic Pro X, so you can effortlessly access and use them in your projects. So let's dive in and learn how to install vocal presets on Logic Pro X.

Step 1: Find and download the vocal presets

Start by searching for vocal presets. You can choose from various options available on Cedar Sound Studios. They are usually available in specific file formats like .pst or .exs. 

Step 2: Locate the preset files on your computer 

Once you've downloaded the preset files, ensure you know where they're saved on your computer. Typically, they're stored in a specific folder or directory.  

Step 3: Extract the contents of the file

After locating the downloaded file, double-click on it to unzip or extract its contents. The zip files come with a pdf of the instructions and preset.

Right-click on the preset and select copy to copy the preset. You can also use the command “ CTRL + C”. 


Go to the music. If you can’t find your ”Music” folder, click anywhere on your desktop and press Command+Shift+H to bring up your home folder; the music folder should be there. 


Once you find music, open audio music, and you’ll find patches there, click on patches, then go to audio.

Right-click on the audio and select the paste option to add the audio. You can also use the command “CTRL+V” to add the copied preset to the audio folder.

Step 4: Reopen Logic Pro X 

Reopen Logic Pro X on your computer and locate the track or channel strip where you want to apply the vocal preset.

It could be an existing track or a new track you’ve created for your vocals. 

Step 5: Access the Library In Logic Pro X

Click on the "Library" button in the workspace's upper-left corner. You can also use the keyboard shortcut "Command + Option + O" to open the Library.

Step 6: Load the Channel Strip Setting window

 Within the Library, navigate to the "User Patches" section and give it a click. The added preset must be there on the list of presets.

Step 7: Apply the vocal preset 

Once the preset appears in the Channel Strip Setting window, click on the preset, and it opens up the settings. To apply it to a track, double-click the preset, and it will be loaded.

That's it! The vocal preset should now be applied to the track in Logic Pro X. Feel free to adjust the settings further or customize the preset to suit your preferences.
